New
From November 3, 2026, IRCC adds a Labour Market Integration factor for Canadian work experience and qualifying high-wage job offers. You will see your score under the new rules and under the previous rules, so you can compare either one with draw cut-offs. This is an estimate only.

Official languages

Step 4

Work experience

Step 5
Only qualifying skilled work done while physically in Canada counts.
Foreign work adds points through skill transferability, combined with your language scores or Canadian experience.

Certificate of qualification

Step 6
In Ontario, this is issued through Skilled Trades Ontario. A school or employer certificate does not count.

Qualifying job offer

Step 7
From November 3, 2026, no LMIA is needed, and only offers in high-wage occupations earn points. IRCC said offers should be in your profile before November 3 to count at recalculation.

Additional factors

Step 8
This includes an Ontario (OINP) nomination accepted in your Express Entry profile. An expression of interest or application is not a nomination.
Yours or your accompanying spouse's. They must meet IRCC's relationship and residence rules.
What changed

The Labour Market Integration factor

From November 3, 2026, IRCC scores Canadian work experience and qualifying job offers under one factor. You receive the higher of two routes, not both. Existing profiles were recalculated automatically, and IRCC paused invitation rounds for up to two weeks while that happened.

Route 1

Canadian work experience

40 to 80 points

For 1 to 5+ years without a spouse or partner, or 35 to 70 with one. A bonus of +70, +40 or +20 is added when at least 12 months of that experience was in a high-wage occupation, depending on the wage level.

OR
Route 2

Qualifying job offer

50, 70 or 100 points

Based on the wage level of the offered occupation. No LMIA is needed for an Express Entry job offer from November 3, and an LMIA earns no extra points.

31occupations at 2x the average median wage
89occupations at 1.5x
66occupations at 1.3x

An occupation counts as high-wage by its NOC code, not by what you are paid. Full details: IRCC high-wage occupations.

Latest cut-offs by draw type

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What CRS score do I need for an invitation?

There is no single number. Each draw type has its own range, and Provincial Nominee rounds sit far above Canadian Experience Class and French-language rounds. Find the category you qualify for and compare your score with that row in the table above, or with the chart in your results.

Why does the calculator show two scores?

Every draw before November 3 used the previous scoring rules. Showing both lets you compare like with like. If you have no high-wage work bonus and no job offer, the two scores will match.

Do I still need an LMIA for a job offer?

No. From November 3, 2026, an LMIA is not required for a qualifying Express Entry job offer, and having one earns no extra points. The offer still has to be genuine, in a high-wage occupation, and meet IRCC's requirements.

Does an Ontario nomination change my score?

Yes. A provincial nomination, including one from the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, adds 600 points once it is accepted in your Express Entry profile. A registration or expression of interest with a province does not earn those points on its own.

What if my spouse is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident?

You are scored as a candidate without an accompanying spouse, and no spouse points apply. Spouse factors only count when your partner is not a citizen or permanent resident and will come to Canada with you.

My language test is more than two years old. Can I still use it?

You can calculate a hypothetical score, but expired results cannot be used in an Express Entry profile. You will need a new test before you submit.

Is my information saved or sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.

Is this my official CRS score?

No. It is an estimate. Your score is set by IRCC once your profile is in the pool, and some points depend on documents such as an ECA or a valid job offer that this tool cannot verify. For timelines after an invitation, see how long Express Entry takes.
